This is the last installation in the PS3Eye camera setup series. All other programs in this series have been to setup your camera wirelessly with a PC running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. This program will guide you through installing your PS3Eye camera on to a Mac running Mac OS X 10.5-10. 6. For the full list of downloads in this series, please visit the main article. Note: This guide is for installation via a wired connection only. If you wish to install your camera wirelessly instead, please see the guide in "Part 2". Let's get started! To start this installation, you will need to have already installed OpenCV which was covered in Part 3 of this installation series, so be sure to complete that one before you begin here. Once you have setup OpenCV on your Mac OS X computer, download and run "PS3Eye Camera Setup V3.0.0.0910 (Mac). pkg". Follow the installation guide and once it completes, you may close the installer and proceed to the next section. For Windows users, to get your camera setup on a Mac, you'll need to open up a terminal and do some command line work. Once you have installed OpenCV on your Mac OS X computer via Homebrew, run the following commands in terminal to install libcv with OpenNI included Now that you have installed libcv via Homebrew, download this zip file attached to this article that contains all of the source code for this tutorial. Once downloaded extract it in your desired location on your hard drive. Then run "install_dependencies_osx-asliptas_support. sh" script. This script will check for all of the dependencies needed to run the sample program. Upon successful execution, you should see the following message: "Installation successful without errors." If you do not see this message, then you'll need to resolve your missing/incorrect dependencies before continuing. Once you have confirmed that all of the dependencies have been installed successfully, navigate to where you placed your extracted sample code (in my example I extracted it in my Documents folder) and open up "ps3eye_test.rb" with TextEdit (or another text editor). Next click on "File", then select "Save As... ", and save it to the desktop. Once the file has been saved, change your file's extension to "rb". You can now run your program by double clicking on "ps3eye_test.rb" in Finder. You should see an output screen like this: If you do not see this initial output, then you'll need to troubleshoot your installation by following these steps: 1) Verify that OpenCV was installed correctly (See Part 1 of the series). 2) Verify that CGI.pm is installed correctly (See Part 3). 3) Verify that libcv is installed correctly (See Part 2).
